CHILD’S UNUSUAL DEATH,

RAND ENTANGLED IN COW’S TAIL, To get his fingers entangled in the hair of a cow’s tail and thus to be dragged round the stock yard, was the unusual nature of an accident which led to the death of a three-year-old boy named Stephen Raymond Bell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rupert L. Bell, farmer, Rukuhia, Waikato, on Friday night last. The boy was accustomed, at milkng time, to be present in the shed with his father, brother and sister, the two latter both young, and not infrequently took hold of the tail of a cow being milked, to prevent the member from, swishing. As the animal moVed forward through the swing door at the back of the bail, the hair of its tail, into which the boy apparently had his fingers entwined, tightened, and the unfortunate child was 1 jerked forward on to his face. The father seized the boy, and placing him under one arm, afeo took hold of the tail of the cow, which by this time was careering forward. The father stumbled, however, and was forced to relinquish his hold on his son, and when, later, the animal drew up at the stock yard . gate, and Mr. Bell picked up the chid, [he found him Tinconscious, and he died reaching the
