THE CENTRE TOURNAMENTWIN FOR H. SMART'S RINK The New Year tournament, under the auspices of the Taranaki bowling centre, was concluded yesterday, the rink skipped by 11. Smart, which had come through without a defeat, beating C. N. Johnson’s rink in the The winning team was: F. Hooker, E. Gilmour, F. Plumtree and H .Smart (s), and the runners up: Binnie,_Arden, Washer’ and C. N. Johnson (.s). In the final Smart’s team opened well, and in the eleventh head the score was 14 —4 in their favor. Their opponents made a recovery, including a five on the sixteenth head, when the total read 18—17. The gamfe ended 2it>—l7 in favor of Smart’s rink, after an interesting contest.
