PROBLEMS OF PACIFIC.
INFORMAL DISCUSSIONS. BETWEEN AMERICA AND DOMINIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. London, Dec. 31. The New York correspondent of the Daily News says 'the British Dominions unofficially discussed with United States Republicans questions of naval defence and problems of the Pacific, Canada suggesting that the Canadian and the United States Pacific navies be unified under a Canadian-American command. The correspondent adds that, although the communications were unofficial, they intimate a confident ending in perfect accord between the future Republican administration and the British Dominions. Although America does not anticipate an immediate crisis, certain aspects of Japan’s present policy are causing speculation, and the Republican statesmen are adopting preparedness as their watchword.—United Service.
