STIMULUS TO MUSIC.
N.S.W. ORCHESTRA'S NEXT VISIT. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dec. 31 12.10 a.m. Sydney Dec. 30. M. Verbrugghen has announced that the State Orchestra shortly visiting New Zealand is not under a guarantee, as, -in view of the great enthusiasm and appreciation of the people of the Dominion, it was felt that they would not be justified in again calling on them for guarantees.
He added that lie knew from a letter he received that,the first visit of the Orchestra resulted in a powerful stimulus to New Zealand musical organisations. The choirs with which they cooperated at Auckland and Wellington were of splendid quality, an<l it was really surprising how intelligently the choristers responded to the demands he made upon tham.—Aus. and N.Z.
