STRATFORD LOAN
PROPOSAL CARRIED EASILY/j MAJORITY OF FOUR TO ONE. j (By Wire.—Own Correspondent.) Stratford, Last Night. The Stratford borough loan proposals, for a loan of £129,500 for general improvements, were submitted to a poll of tlie>lratepaj'ers to-day, and were carried by a majority of over four to one. The details of the voting are as follows: — For the proposal Against ......... . M .^.'.^,. : .... 89 Informal ...............x...- 4 Majority for the proposal 285 A fair number of ratepayers assembled at the declaration of the poll, and general satisfaction was expressed that the ratepayers had shown their confidence in the future of the town by giving such a large majority for th» loan. The Mayor, Mr. J. W. McMillan said he was extremely gratifietT to find that the ratepayers had voted so well in. the interests of the borough, as they had by so doing expressed confidence in the Mayor and councillors.
