POSSIBLY NO TROUBLE AT PRESENT. "NO DISPUTE EXISTS."

Christchurch, Dec. 20. There were no fresh developments in regard to the Christchurch hold-up of the eooks and stewards' union. The opinion in shipping circles now is that! there will be no trouble at present.

From inquiries instituted by a New Zealand Times representative it was ascertained that the report telegraphed from Christchurch that a conference between representatives of the cooks and stewards and the shipowners was to be held at Wellington lacks confirmation. At present no dispute exists. The cooks and stewards are awaiting the decision of the Arbitration Court regarding the cost"of living bonus, whicli is to be delivered in a day or two.
