ATHLETICS.
ELTHAM CARNIVAL. SPLENDID NOMINATIONS. Nominations for the Eltham Cycle Racing and Athletic Club's sports, to be held at Taumata Tark. Eltham. on Eoiing Day, closed on Saturday night, and the club has every reason to feel gratified at the support accorded them by athletes and cyclists. The rive cycle races have each drawn an average of HI competitors, whilst in the athletic events a total of 5S competitors have nominated, tho 100' yards having drawn 14, 220 yards 10, 440 yards 1.1, 880 yards 11, and the mile 8. Excellent fields are thus assured, and the public can confidently rely on a good day's sport. The officials are a real live body, who are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the success of the gathering.
