' The Ways and Means Committee lias agreed to the protective rates, which wilj, be embodied in a Bill to be presented on Tuesday. The principal duties are: Thirty cents a bushel on wheat; fifteen cents on a pound of wool in grease, twenty cents skirted: two and a half cents per pound on mutton and lamb; thirty per cent, ad valorem on cattle; twenty per cent, ad valorem on flour; fifteen cents a bushel on corn; a dollar a head on sheep under one year old; and twenty cents on a gallon of soya bean oil.-—Aus. and N.Z.
