NEW POLICE DISTRICT.

SEPARATION OF TARANAKI. Sub-Inspector Hutton, of New Plymouth, who was recently promoted inspector, in company with Inspector Hendry, of Wanganui, recently paid ft visit to all the stations comprising the newly-constituted Taranaki police district.

The new district includes Hawera, Elt.ham, Normanby, Manaia, Kapongft, Stratford, Whangamomona, Jnglewood, Waitara, Mokan, flahotu, Opunakc, Fitzroy, and New Plymouth. Inspector Hendry took the opportunity to farewell the stations, and Inspector Hutton assumed charge. The headquarten of the new district will be at New Plymouth, and it is understood that considerable alterations will be necessary in the office and staff when the district is taken over by Inspector Hutton on January 1.
