DROWNED WHILE BATHING. By Telejrapb.—-Press Association, Invcrcargil], Dec. 20. P. Joyce aged 12, was drowned in the Aparinia River while bathing. When the body was found there was a. maik across the forehead, and it is surmised the boy struck a rock when diving into shallow water.
. A RESCUER DROWNED. Titnaru, Dec. 20. Jeremiah Costella, licensee of the Waimate Hotel, a sngle man, aged 30, was drowned in the Waihao River yesterday in an effort to rescue a companion who had fallen into the water. MOTOR CYCLE FATALITY. Palmerston X., Dec. 20. At the inquest on the body of John Smith Magurk, of Wellington, who was killed by a fall from a motor cycle on December 14 near Palmerston North, the verdict was death from injuries received.
