A GAME OF HAZARD.

Wellington, Last Night. »harf loungers were startled this afternoon by the sudden appearance of a motor car containing a squad of police which dashed on to Lambton wharf, and pulled up with a round turn alongside a big ring of men, wiio, it is alleged, were engaged in a game of "hazards " ihe gathering dispeiseJ. in all directions out the police succeeded in'arresting six ot their number. lhe arrested men were: James Grant, Samuel Jar vis, Harry Coleman, George Peters, Charles Henry Tawson, and Lawrence Joseph Taylor. Subsequently five of them were released on bail. They will appear to-morrow in the police Court charged with playing hazards. The raid was conducted by Detective Triklebank, Sergeant McKelvie and Constable Monro
