SHIPPING CASUALTIES.
A SUBMERGED WRECK. SCHOONER INCA PICKED UP. a * - By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Dec. 16. The Marine Department has received the i following message from Melbourne, sent there by the steamer Cosmos: The master reports passing a submerged wreck, the mast being above water and apparently being a fore and aft schooner. The wreck is very dangerous to navigation. Tlie submerged vessel is in latitude 44 deg. 57 min. south, longitude 154.43 east. The master also picked up the dismasted schooner Inca, and is returning with her in tow. Only two hands werp on board, the remainder of the crew and the captain's wife having left in the lifeboat on Monday. INCA'S CREW RESCUED. TAKEN TO SAN FRANCISCO. Received Dec. 10, 9.55 p.m. Sydney, Dec. 16. The naval authorities advise that they have received a wireless message from the steamer West Holbrook, stating that she had rescued the mate, nine members of the crew and the captain's wife and baby from the Inca's life-boat, and as they were all Americans she was taking them on to San Francisco.
