REDUCTION MOTION DEFEATED. POLICY IN THE EAST. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dec. 10, 10.40 p.m. London, Dec. 16. Mr. Asquith's motion for the reduction of the supplementary army vote was defeated by ISO votes to, 82. The debate centred on the British policy in' Mesopotamia and Persia. Mr. Lloyd George said the reduction of forces in the East was going on steadily. We were now bent on setting up an Arab State, and a complete withdrawal from Turkey in the spring.
