A civic reception was tendered to the New Zealand Olympic team in the Town Hall this evening, there being a largo, attendance. Mayor Luke congratulated the team on its efforts, stating that everyone realised that with mors training and an earlier start from the "Dft**! minion, greater success would have been achieved. New Zealanders were "wrT proud of their Olympic'team," and »!• tnongh no firsts ha'd been tlbo team's prowess had enabled every member to qualify, and that in itself W#i a very great honor at a world gathering. Replying, Mr. Wilson, manager 'of .the team, said the team was beaten, Wit not disgraced.
