A BETTER TONE

Auckland, Last Xight: There was a better tone in the Auckland hide market to-day than has been apparent ior some, considerable time. The sales were the first that have been held since the removal of the restrictions on the export of hides. i,nd there was a fair attendance. Bidding was fairly brisk at values equal to lit't week's rates.
