TREATY WITH AFGHANISTAN.
BRITISH MISSION VISITS KABUL,
NEWS WELCOMED IN INDIA.

Delhi, Dec. 10, It is announced that the Afghan delegates, having placed the results of the recent discussions before the Amir, the latter wrote to the Viceroy in the friendliest terms, inviting a British Mission to Kabul for the conclusion of a treaty. . The British Government has now authorised the Government of India to accept the same. The Mission consists of Mr. Henry Debbs, foreign secretary, Swanal, Sir Shanis Isas, Messrs. Pears and Acheson, political officers, and Colonel Muspratt. The mission crosses the frontier at the end <>i December.
India lias been expectng this announcement for some time. It was well receiyed, as there was a strong feeling that some definite relations with Afghanistan highly desirable.
The news that the mission was proceeding will probably act as a sedative on the frontier.—Reuter Service.
