London, Dec. 11. Mr.-J. B. Remer, member for Cheshire, has issued writs against, three Northcliffe newspapers, the Daily Mail, the Evening News, and the Weekly Despatch, also against Lord Rothermere's Daily Mirror, in connection with the anti-waste attacks on members of the House of Commons.
The Daily Mail and Daily Mirror stated:-—The Daily Mail and Daily Mirror have been conducting a campaign against Government expenditure. This has now taken the form of publishing lists of all members of the House of Commons who supported such estimates as the Ministry of Munitions and Ministry of Shipping, describing them' as "wasters and wastrels,'' and suggesting to their constituents that they should keep an eye upon them. The Daily Mirror is publishing a special ''squandermania" number, with a portrait gallery of Ministers and members concerned, together with an article by Lord Rothermero on the Government's so-called grandiose waste schemes.
