The weather was sultry and the attendance fair it the resumption of the cricket match England v. an Australian eleven. Continuing England's first innings, Waddington and Wilson made a fine last wicket stand, adding !)7 runs by Careful cricket. Carter and Tozer opened Australia's second innings. Carter scored somewhat freely, notwithstanding severaJ changes in the bowling the severe heat troubling the visiting bowlers. Moore again succumbed to his first ball. The first hundred was compiled in 110 minutes. Tozer played a patient and chanceless innings. Owing to the failing light stumps were drawn at 5.20 p.m., the match resulting in a draw. Scores:—
