ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
DEATH FROM INJURIES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. William McMath, a well-known Ponsonby cricketer, died in hospital early this morning from injuries, through being run over by a tram at Takapuna last night; both legs being severed. Deceased was 40, married, and had a young family. DEATH FROM BURNS. Palmerston $., Last Night. Minnie Hoskins, single, aged 44, died in the Palmerston North hospital yesterday as a result of burns received by falling on a hot stove. Deceased, who resided with her mother at Foxton, waß Bubject to epileptic fits. Tho mother left deceased alone in the house for a while, allowing the Are to go out, and in her absence the deceased re-lit it, later failing across the open stove a seizure. At the inquest to-day a verdict of death from shock was returned. SUDDEN DEATH. Wellington, Dec. 4. Mrs. Jennings, about 60 years of age, who was a passenger by the Maori from Lyttelton this morning, dropped dead in the Post Office Square about 7.80 a.m. Mrs. Jennlings, who apparently Resided in Christchureh, had a railway 'ticket toTMasterton in her possession.
