A ROMANTIC CLAIM.
FOR VALUABLE ENGLISH ESTATE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.— Copyright. Received Dec. 2, 7.45 p.m. London, Dec. 1. Mr. Justice Astbury granted Collingwood an injunction restraining Petty from trespassing. Mr. Justice Astbury pointed out that the will disposing of the property had been proved in open Court. Petty's claim was idle and ridiculous, and he advised him to leave the property alone, or he might get into trouble.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
[This case concerns a romantio Chancery suit, a freehold estate at Lewisham, England, called Woodlands, and worth £20,000, being involved.' One of the claimants, named Petty, returned to England recently from Australia, where he prospected in West Australia and was a dentist at Fremantle. 1> found Woodlands in possession of a draper named Collingwood, who claims the legal right to it, having paid £3OOO for it. Petty asserted that Collingwoqd's deeds were forged, and that lie himself held the original deeds. He seized a portion of the property and refused to be ejected.]
