EMPLOYERS' ASSOCIATION.
MEETING Of/eXECUTIVE. The monthly meeilng of the executive of tho Tnranukl Employers' Association was held on Wednesday. J Sixny-k'clnr hep members were admitted, 37 being in New Plymouth and 27 in Hawera. The chainninn /reported that excellent work had been rtonj/ by the orgnnlser (Mr. Spencer) during h week he had spent, in Taranaki; these/ new members being the result. He had sUll to cover Stratford and a number of ciountry districts. It was intended to further organise tho Hawera branch o'f the assysclnlion and more would bo heard ot this atj the next meeting. It was intendet to establish an executive committee !ri Hawe/fa for the purpose of looking after the /interests of employers in South Taran iik If / POSITION OF DAIRY COMPANIES. /iir. J. S. Connett waited on the association .'/'; the representative of die Taranakl Farniijn:; and Dairying Industrial Union of Employers with regard to Unking up with the ihss-nriation. / The chairman explained that tho dairy j companies had belonged to the association I up liil a year or two ago and had then dropped out. He welcomed Mr. Connett's presence as an indication that the farmers realised thai all employers of labor had to pull together solidly. Mr. Connett explained that the dairy 1-jm-nany union was a complete organisation In itself, and on the fees being raised felt that the amount was too huge, not because they could not afford it. After some discussion, during which the views of both parties regarding fees were explained, Mr. Cuimctt agreed 'to report the matter to lis executive for final decision.
