fNVERCARGILL LOANS. By Telecrapli.—Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night. A poll of ratepayers was taken today on a number of loan proposals. A great deal of interest, was displayed and the polling was heavy. Of seven proposals submitted four were carried and three rejected. Those carried were: £25,000 for' tramway extensions; £50,000 for development of the Municipal electoral undertaking; £50,000 to complete the sewerage scheme, and £ISOO for reclamation works. The rejected proposals were: £15,000 for a war memorial; £25,000 for gas works improvements, and £BO,OOO for 3treet improvements. NEW ELECTRIC POWER DISTRICT. Timarn, Last Night. Representatives of all parts of South Canterbury, with one delegate from North Otago, met. here to-day, and after discussion resolved to take steps to have the whole of South Canterbury declared an electric power district.
