A PROFESSIONAL DEFINED. RULING I'ItOM HAWERA CLUB. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Chrlstchurch, Last Night. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Swimming Association to-night, the tollowlng officers were elected: President, Mr. W. Hi .D. Blsl~op: deputy-president, .Mr. C. Bryant; hon. secretiry, Mr. B. O'Neill; lion, treasurer, Mr. H. Mei>. Vincent; representative in England. Mr. H. S. Williams. The secretary anounced that Hawke's Bay and Canterbury had each appUed for the 1922 championship meeting, flhe matter was referred to a conference of centres. The secretary stated that the Australian Union's offer to send Miss Bloibtrey, lady champion swimmer of America, and a chaperon on tour through New Zealand during January on a guarantee ol' £3OO, l:«d been accepted. The American (Hawaiian) swimmers would tour the North Island only in March and April. The championship programme as arranged by the Dunedin centre was approved. The Wanganul centre applied, on behalf of the Hawera Club, for a ruling as to the status of a professional motor cycle racer for swimming purposes. The president rules that the man in question is a professional.
