A FATHER'S GRATITUDE Writes Mr. A. S. Russell, of Invercargill, father of Captain Russell, one of the victims of the recent aeroplane accident, to the editor of the Daily News:— "May I presume still further on you, and through the medium of your paper be permitted to tender my deep sympathy to the friends and relatives of the late Miss Warnock and the late Mr. Clarke? Would you be so good as further to tender my very deep gratitude not only to the residents of your town, but to one and all who have tendered by actions and expressions their kind sympathy to myself >nd the relatives of the lata Captain Russell, D.F.C., Croix de Guerre, and not only to these, but also to all whft have extended their kind silent sympathy in the loss of this bright young hfe. To your Returned Soldiers' Association, and to all ether returned men, I am deeply grateful for their kindness, and f,or the last tribute they paid to a late brave comrade. I would also like to publicly acknowledge my sense of -deep, gratitude to Mr. Vivian Wahlvwlo, although acotely afflicted himself wa* the embodiment ot kindness, and sympathy, and to him and to aU donori of floral tributes I bar' tp ".tender" my heartfeH thanks, tlael, ..Sir, quite incapable' of adequately expressing my deep appreciation of alliithe kindness shown, but I would like to" assure all that two firm, ineffaceable memories will be witk me to the grave, the ineqry of a brave, Mad, and thoughtful son, and the sympathy and help extended to us in our sorrow.
