It is persistently rumored that Commodore Dumaresq', head of the Australian Navy, will return to England in March owing to the reduction' of the naval organisation. Commodore Dumaresq, interviewed, said that the rumors were groundless. CONAN DOYLE'S TOUR. Sydney, Nov. 29. •Sir A. Ci|nan Doyle concluded his successful lecturing tour with a great meeting of spiritualists in the town Hall. He made a trenchant reply to pulpit and press criticisms, and appealed to the Spiritualists to keep this thing high and unspotted and not let it drop into the regions of fortune-telling, which would leave such an impression on the public mind. He added: "Don't quarrel with your Christian brethren, many of whom are just as good spiritualists as yourselves."—Ans.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
