LINER BUMPS WHARF. Bs Telegraph.—Press Asaoclntloa Blenheim, Nov. 29. The liner Kent, coming into Pieton on Saturday with apparently too much way on, collided heavily with the wharf. She strained the spring buffer, knocked a piece of concrete oil the end of the structure, and also dented one of her plates. Not much damagfl was done, and the vessel left loaded with lanilj early on Sunday morning. The crash was heard some distance away. SAWMILLERS' BALLOT. Invereargill, Nov. 29. The Sawmill Workers' Union has decided to take a secret ballot on the question of declaring a, strike as a result of the icmployers refusing to alter the existing award. The question of affiliating with the Alliance of Labor was deferred.
