TARANAKI LOANS.

GOVERNMENT APPROVAL GIVEN. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Wellington, Nov. 25. The Government has assented to the raising of the following loans:— New Plymouth Borough Council (for tramways), £22,500; Hawera Borough Council (for drainage, sewerage, plant, water-mains, and street improvements), £20,000; Hawcra Borough Council (for street improvements, water-mains, sewers, pnmping-station, lighting, etc.), £15,500; Eltham Borough Council (for sewerage purposes), £7000; Taranaki County Council (for forming and metalling Kelly Road), £1000; Taranaki County Council (for forming and metalling Cross Road), £500; Stratford Borough Council (for bridging, drainage, waterworks, street improvements, etc.), £14:i,000; Manaia Town Board (for sewerage and water schemes), £35,000; Stratford County Council (for forming and metalling a new road), £1200; Inglewood County Council (for road metalling), £2500; Patea, Borough Council (for erection of workers' dwellings), £2OOO.
