RAILWAY TIME-TABLE.
FURTHER DISCUSSION AT ' HAWERA. The proposed alterations to the rail* way time-table in Taranaki, as advocated by the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce and supported by other local bodies, were discussed at a meeting oi the executive of the Hawera Chamber of Commerce on Friday night. The subject was introduced by a lot* | ter from the Taranaki Chamber asking if the Hawera Chamber would, with* view lo having unanimity on the quea'ion, cull a conference of representatives of local bodies to discuss matters with delegates from New Plymouth. During discussion on the matter one member expressed the opinion that to have the train arriving at 10.-15 a.m., as proposed, would be a great advantage from n business point of view. The only objection was that the later' arrival would not suit the Technical School pupils. The president (Mr. Murdoch) said the business people were against the. move. Mr. fiillanders pointed out that express trains could not be- run for the convenience of school children. He could not see that the arrival of the, morning express an hour later could in, juriously affect Hawera. After further discussion it wa# decided to convene a public meeting Hawera to which New Plymouth del« will be invited,
