There is great interest in the first Aerial Derby race at Ascot on Saturday, which is the most important aviation fixture yet held in Australia. It is over a course of 68 miles. The Sun newspaper has entered Captain Matthews, who failed in the flight from England to Australia. There will lie ten other competitors.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. RACE IN AMERICA. PRINCIPAL NATIONS COMPETE. Received Nov. 26, 8 p.m. New York, Nov. 25. According to a message from Mineola, Long Island, Lieut. C. C. Mosley, of the United States Army, won the air race for the Pulitzer trophy, completing the 125 mile triangular course in 44 minutes 29$ seconds. He attained a speed of 101 miles an hour, flying an American Verville 'plane. Forty-four 'planes of American, English, French, Italian and German competed.
