PERILS OF TO-DAY.
METHODIST SYNOD'S WARNING. By Telegraph.—J'-ess Assoclatloa. Invercargill, Last Night. The Methodist Synod of Otago and Southland adopted resolutions viewing with concern the prevalence of tin gambling evil, and the apparent failure of men in prominent positions to recognise that the gambling spirit is undermining moral character and slowing industry, protesting against an increase of racing permits, and warning people against the perils of spiritualism.
