According to the newspaper;, the Premier, speaking before the Foreign Af--lairs Committee, stated the .Government bad decided to permit French merchants and manufacturers to open commercial relations with Soviet Russia, though there was no question of recognising the Bolshevik Government. The Premier also stated Germany was keeping the Spa agreements, and had reduced her army to 150,000 and delivered coal as promised.—Reuter Service. > AMERICA URGED TO ACT. MAY GET BENEFITS. American business interests are urging the Government to follow the British example and prepare the way for a resumption of trade with Bolshevik Russia, the plea being made on the ground that the British will obtain control of tbe Russian markets and sources of supply to the prejudice of Americans.— Aus-N.Z.
