HIGH CMfMISSIOXBR'S REPORT. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated November 20, from the High Commissioner for New Zea land, London:— ' .Meat. English, trade dull but prices have advanced owing to short supply, and owing to tie absence of Dutch. English beef Is Is 4%d per lb.; mutton, la tod, :!s per lb.; lamb, 2s, 2s 2d per lb. New Zealand mutton and lamb in active demand at full prices (viz., ewes, 8d; cut wethers, Sd; ttn cut wethers, !)d per lb.; mutton, Is Id per lb.) New Zealand ox beef, lOVid, 71<,d per lb., hinds and fores; cow beef, Sd, Gd per lb., hinds and fores; Argentine chilled beef Is Sd per lb.; hinds and fores respectively. "Butter.—Very limited auppPy Bngliah; average price is £24 5s per cwt. (43 5d per lb), but sales have been made up to £2B per cwt. (5s per lb). Irish; No supplies cowing forward. Government butter will be increased to iy 2 ounces neit week. No change in price (viz., 3s 4d per lb. retail). "Cheese.—.Market is dull and declining, and demand is limited for all descriptions.' Last Government allotment not fully applied for, Indicating that consumption is deereas Jig. No change in price; wholesale Is r,d per lb., retail is Sd per lb. English, £8 ir»s, £9 per cwt.
