LOSS OF SHIRT FACTORY.
DESTRUCTION BY FIRE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Nov. 23. A fire at 12.25 p.m. destroyed Archibald Clark and Sons' Zeaiandia shirt, collar, underclothing, and tent factory at Grey Lynn. The building was a large two-storey one of iron and woocf, A fire partly destroyed the same factory on August 29 last. The damage has not yet been estimated, but it will be heavy. The fire involves a total loss. The fire also destroyed a cottage occupied by Miss Drummond, with its contents. The fire was discovered by Miss Drummond, who occupied a cottage adjacent to the building. The fire, burned fiercely, and the sparks were a grave danger to the surrounding properties. A shed belonging to a fruiterer was burned, and Mi?s Druinmond's cottage followed, though she saved most of its contents. After half an hour's fighting by the brigade the walls of the factory fell, and another half hour saw nothing but smouldering ruins. The insurances are: South British £10.950, New Zealand £ 10,950, covering building, machinery, and stock. The correct total is £33.900.
