In spite of the rough weather on Saturday afternoon, many children attended the Box Opening of the Young Helpers' League. While the boxes were being opened by the secretary, Miss -Doris Lawn, the children were entertained at afternoon tea by Mrs. Budge, president of the Stratford Habitation. The sum of £l7 14s OJd was collected from the boxes brought, and it is expected that the money from those which are still out will bring the total up to £2O. The largest collections were made by Geof. Lawn, £2. lis Id; Margaret Wright, £1 TTs 3Jd; Marjorie Elgar, £1 Ss sd; Myrtle Green, £1 4s 3y 2 d, and Gwen Vinsen, £1 4s OJd. Miss L. Lawn, Miss D, Hammond, and Hiss Copping kindly .assisted in entertaining the children. ST. MARY'S DIOCESAN SCHOOL, STRATFORD. ANNUAL SPORTS. • The annual sports were held on Friday in the playing fields behind the school. Ideal weather went far towards the succesii ,of the afternoon. Messrs. A. W. Budge, Christie, and C. Jackson took charge of the various events, which went off with noticeable speed and precision. Mrs. Harold Abraham presented the prizes to ttie win- | ners at the conclusion of the programme. Great credit is due to Miss Bates, tile sports mistress, for the keenness and sportsmanlike feeling shown by the girls. The prize winners were as follows: Senior Championship—Faith Larsen.
