PEOPLES DAY. . TORTHER AWARDS. Favored l>y perfect weather there was a very large attendance at tie Wanganul racecourse on the occasion of People's Day at the Wanganui A. and P. Society's Show on Thursday, and general appreciation was expressed at the excellence of the exhibits. The fat bullocks were the centre of attraction in the fat pens, particular attention being paid to a bullock weighing 3C4oibs. exhibited by 0. F. Moore, of Kal Iwl, and adjudged third. A beast exhibited by Mv. A. T. Wills, of Hawera, though probably not as heavy, showed much better quality. In the ring, judging of the horse sections was proceeded with brisSy, and though a considerable number of classes are left for the second day, all was completed before the time set down for the parade, which was at 3 p.m. As this is considered late It Is proposed to alter the time next year to 2 p.m., thus enabling passengers by the north mall train to view the parade before having to leave the ground. The interest of the casual spectator in ti:e parade Is much enhanced by the issue of a card showing the order of procession. In draught,horses, Mr. E. A. Washer, of Hawera, scored the championship with the mare Scotch Lassie, the championslip In the entires going to W. B. Campbell's Malatua Bucklyvie. There was a very large number of side shows present, all apparently doing good business, whilst the machinery exhibits also [ attracted much attention. Among these was one by Mr. C. L. Wilson, of Eltham, who exhibited the Leyland lorry fitted with the Wooldrldge patent tip, and both Mr. Wilson and Mr. Wooldrldge were kept busy demonstrating. Mr. Wilson also stowed tho wellknown Vauxhall, Nash and Maxwell cars .During the day Mr. W. F. Massey was im Interested, visitor to the show, being entertained to luncheon by the Association The secretary (Mr. P. O.
