EGMONT COUNTY COUNCIL.
SPECIAL MEETING. A specifsl meeting of the Egmont County Council was held on Monday. Present: Crs. W. It. Wright (chairman), S. Campbell, It. Watson, J[. O'Brien, E. S. Forsyth, W. C. Green, .1. Young, and C. A. Trotter, who was elected unopposed tor the town riding. The chairman apologised for the absence of Cr. Sinclair, who, owing to a prior engagement, was unable to attend. The adoption of the uniform by-laws as agreed upon by the Taranakl Local Bodies' Association was confirmed, the same to conic Into force on December 20 neit. A special order was passed confirming the raising of a special loan of £650 for forming and metalling a part of the Ruakerc fioad. Tenders were considered for the delivery of crushed boulder stone for Lower Arawhata Road. The tender of H. Munrn at 14s Od per yard, was accepted. It was resolved that 250 yards of maintenance metal be placed on Upper Arawhata Read as soon as possible. Reference was made to the. nnverumeit BMiils for this district, and If was retiree that s(ep3 be taken so as application may he made at an early for the following grants: Cape Koad £IOO, Oltahu Head £'l7s Wala.i bridge (Wlriv.iu Koad) £IOOO, Wivcmu Roid £ISOO.
