CHURCH FIRE INSURANCE FUND Bj TeldCT&ph.—Press AuoclatlOl. Wellington, Nov. 19. A report on the fire insurance fund of the Presbyterian Church, of New Zealand was presented to the General Assembly to-day, On August 18, 1820, insurances were in force amounting to £M6,946. These' were distributed over 3331 churches, 172 manses, 95 schoolrooms, and other buildings, the property of 260 eongregaf tions and organisations. Levies unpaid at that date amounted to £69 ldt Bd. The amount to the credit of the fujid* was £451<5 9s, an increase of £759 5s 3o? for' the year. There was no claim for the financial year. Referring to the loss of St. Andrew's Church, the report said that of the £«900 insurance, £-fltt was held-ty the church fund, the balance having been re-insured. A recommendation wa» made that in view of the greatly increased cost of replacement all deaeons* courts and committees of management be directed to see that their properties arc adequately protected by insurances tf and the church fund is commended to favorable consideration. > The report was adopted.
