YOUNG WOMAN SHOT.
ARREST OF HER HUSBAND. ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The police arrested to-day on a charge of attempted murder F v Malaquin, the husband of the young woman who was admitted to the Christchurch hospital on Sunday, November 7, suffering from a bullet wound in the head. Malaquin's account of the afl'air was that it was accidental. The bullet has been extracted, and Mv 3. Malaquin ie progressing satisfactory. On the morning of Sunday, November 7, Mrs. F. Malaquin, a married woman, twenty years of age, was removed to the Christchurch hospital suffering from a bullet wound in her head. The matter was not reported to the police until the evening. There was a good deal of mystery attaching to the affair. Her husband stated that the shooting was purely accidental, and said that the explanation he gave to the police was accepted as satisfactory. The neighbors stated that Mr. and Mrs. Malaquin lived very happily together.
