GISBORNE WHARF STRIKE.
POSITION UNALTERED. By Tdegraph.--rress Association Gisbovne, Nov. 11. _ There was no alteration in the position of the waterside deadlock up till noon to-day. The employers have received a letter froni the union claiming that owing to the dispute only involving lour men and not the whole'union, the lock-out was unjust, and the employers had power through the Arbitration Act to deal with these men. They maintained that the employers committed a breach of agreement by locking out members who were not concerned in the dispute and hoped they would remedy the same in order to allow the uninterested members to proceed to work. The employers' reply states that the men concerned should have continued their work, and referred the matter to the proper authorities for settlement. The terms of agreement laid down specific conditions, which members of the union were not carrying out. If the terms of Clause 45 were complied with and the men, cr four others, resumed work on the Fairburn, work would also be resumed on all vessels forthwith. The Ripple is still at the wharf, and no attempt was made to work the Mararva's cargo last night.
