MR.MASSEY.
PRESENTATION BY HIS PARTY. By Telcjraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Nov, 0. Members of the Reform Party in Parliament met last evening and presented an illuminated address to the Prime Minister.
In making the presentation, Sir William Herries referred to Mr. .Massey's qualities as a party leader, and as head of the Government. Mr. Massey had also done excellent work at the Peace Conference.
In reply, Mr. Massey said that it was the party's loyalty to him that had enabled him to retain ihe position he held. The party had achieved success and obtained good results because it had not sought its own aggrandisement, hut had done what was right in the interests of the country. He had been proud to represent New Zealand at the great conferences in the Old World, and one could not pass through those experiences without gaining a wider knowledge and a better grip of Imperial affairs. Ho was pleased that his work was appreciated.
The address, which is framed in New Zealand woods, expresses New Zealand's hearty congratulations on the victory at the I!H9 elections, and states that Mr. Massey showed high courage and determination in the year following J!)03 when, with a handful of followers, ho led what looked like a forlorn hope. A tribute is paid to his unfailing tact and tireless energy and courage, and to his work, as head of t'he National Government. The address, which bears 41 signatures, concludes with an assurance of confidence and loyalty
