In the House of Representatives, Mr. Peiss (chairman o£ the Republican Congressional Committee) stated that the enormous Republican plurality was largely due to the women's vote, not altogether because of ( the Republican policy 1 towards woman suffrage or towards the progressive measures which appeal to women's instincts and a sense of right, but to pronounced dislike of the character of the Cox campaign, which was an offence to the refined and womanly sense of public service.—Aus.-N Z.
