ARMISTICE DAY.

TWO MINUTES' SILENCE TOMORROW. Tii-morrow, November 11, will be the second anniversary of the declaration of the Armistice. Intimation lias been received by all local bodies from the Prime Minister that His Majesty the King has commanded that at 11 a.m to-morrow a two-mimites' silence should be observed

"so that the thoughts of everyone might be concentrated on reverent remembrance of the dead." In connection with the above further advice has been- received from the Secretary of State for the Colonies as follows: —"With reference to my telegram of November 2, please inform your Ministers that His Majesty the King- has expressed hope that on Armistice Day, November 11th, there should be a complete suspension of all normal business, work, and locomotion throughout the British Empire during the two minutes' silence commencing at 11 a.m.—(Sgd.) Milner."
