MOTOR FATALITY.

DEATH OF WHAKAMARA FARMER. Thomas Kay, a farmer, aged 40, sustained injuries while driving a motor car on Thursday which resulted fatally (says the Ilawera Star). Mr. Kay was motoring to his home in Whakamura. and had with him in the car his brother (Mr. Fred Kay) and Ill's son. When going down a gorge, Mr. T. Kay, who was driving, saw a motor car approaching some distance away, and turned his car towards the side of the road. The steering wheel was loose, and the car being difficult to control ran into the water channel. Mr. Kay succeeded in getting the car back on to the road, but it swerved again in an erratic way and ran into a post, which passed through the wind screen and struck Mr. Kay on the chest, rendering him unconscious. Ho was immediately taken to the hospital, where lie died the same evening at 7 o'clock. The late Mr. Kay leaves a widow and three children, the. youngest of whom is j a girl aged 10 years.
