LIQUOR IN SCOTLAND.
FIRST RETURNS OF POLLING. MAJORITY FAVOR NO CHANGE. sst Telegraph.—Press Aasoclatloi Received Nov. 3, 11.40 p.m. London, Nov. 3. The first returns of the polling in Scotland show that about one in four favor the abolition of licenses. Threequarters of the districts are voting no change. Many exciting scenes were witnessed, including a "wet" aeroplane which dropped leaflets in Glasgow.—Aus.-N.il. Cable Assn. London, Nov. 2. Great interest is being taken in the Glasgow local option polling to-day. Vigorous propaganda was carried on right up to the eve of the voting. The public-houses are closed in the thirtyseven wards taking a poll. Temperance advocates expect success in nine. The results will be announced to-morrow.
