IMMIGRATION LAW.
NEW BILL HELD UP. (By Wire.—Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, 'lixat Night. The Immigration Amend- " ment Bill, which was passed by both Houses of Parliament some weeks ago, is still with the Governor-Genera). At the time of its passage there was some question as to whether the measure would not require to be reserved for th« Royal assent. It is now practically certain that that course will not be necessary, but that the law can come into force immediately. It has not yet been returned from the Governor-General, however.
