A BRIEF STOPPAGE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Chelsea sugar works will close at midnight to-night owing to a shortage of coal, but arrangements have been made by the Government to supply thr. works with 000 tons of coal immediately. Consequently the works will be running as usual on Monday. Wellington, Last Night. In connection with the reported stoppage at the Chelsea sugar works, the President of the Board of Trade made representations on the subject to the Prime Minister, asking him to arrange for a supply of coal for the refinery from the railway department's stock in order to avoid a cessation of operations. Information was received in Wellington to-night that work at the refinery will not now be suspended.
