WOOL PROFITS.
DISTRIBUTION TO GROWERS. By Telegraph—Press Association. .Wellington, Last Night. Amongst the Ministerial answers to questions in the House to-day wa6 the following:— That the payment of the surplus wool profits accruing to woolgrowerg under the Imperial Government purchase, in respect of the resale of wool by the Imperial Government » March 31, 1819, commenced on September 8, and is proceeding as rapidly as brokers' returns are received and the amounts due are computed. Cheques to 14,770 woolgrowers have already been distributed, representing the amount due on the purchase of wool through fortythree registered Government woolbrokers. Returns have been received from forty-four other brokers, and returns from twelve brokers are still awaited. It is anticipated that the whole of the profits will be distributed by the middle of November.
