EVACUATION OF WOMEN. LONG JOURNEY TO INDIA. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Received Oct. 20, 5.5 p.m. Delhi, Oct. IS. The first batch of women and children evacuated from Mesopotamia have reached India. Occupying a hundred motor cars, and escorted by armored cars, they joined the railway at Shergat, and reached Bagdad two days later. They boarded a steamer at Kut /or Basra, subsequently embarking for Bombay. The journey occupied three weeks. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
