MELBOURNE WOOL SALES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.— Copyright. Melbourne, Oct. 19. The wool sales were resumed after an Interval of four years. Thirty-two thousand lulea were catalogued. The topi price reached was 36d for good to superior wools. S tjy-fbur'B quality and upwards Were In strong demand, oversea buyers bidding keenly. Yarding was a mixed one, ail good sorts s»ld well with keen comDetitlon for Jerseys. 1 rices realised were: Yearling Jerseys £l2 lis to £l7 10s, 2-year £2l to £26, others t> £22 15s; Shorthorns £l3 to £l6; Hols.eins £lO 10s to £l2 12s; mixed breeds to i! 10.„ At our Stratford Sale on the 12th Inst., tte yarding was a good one, and practically O'erything ofTered was sold at late rates. I rices were: Yearling heifers £4 10s to £5 lis, Jerseys £7 IBs, empty heifers £5 5s to £6 17s Od, Jersey cross £7 17s to £8 Is,' fat lieifera £8 12s 6d to £ll, s.',or.e. cows £7 to £8 12s, dairy cows £l6 to £2O, dairy helfefs £l2 to £lO. In conjunction with Newton 1 King, Ltd., we held our monthly sale at Kohuratahl on Wednesday, the 13th inst. Stock yarded sold well under good competition. Prices: Yearling inlfers £5 "s >,4d, small £4 15s, empty heifers £7 M7s 6d, Jersey £9 10s, 3-year hillocks £8 12s Gd, dairy heifers (small) i.lO to £ll, cows £l6 to £lB 15s. Our monthly Matau sale was held on Friday, the 15th inst., in very wet tveather. Yjrdlng was a small One. Hoggets yarded Mere withdrawn at 28s, but all cattle sold ai; full market rates. Prices: Sniall yearling steers t £2 9s 6d, empty cows £8 Us (Jersey), empty heifers £7 ss, fat lielfeTS £ll 17s, yearling bulls £4 7s 6d to £5 15s.
