GAS FAILS AGAIN.
AND -THE PRICE INCREASED. z Consumers of gas in New Plymouth were cut off from supplies about six o'clock last evening, the hitch being caused by the temporary exhaustion of gas in the containers. There was a decreased output on Tuesday night compared with previous nights, this being due to several causes, and yesterday's shift i was unable to make up the deficiency in time to enable the break in the evening to be avoided. Advances in the cost of coal have resulted In an increase in the price of gas to consumers in New Plymouth, the rise operating from September 1. The increase has been made by allowing less discount, which will now be Is 8d per 1000 feet instead of 2s fld as previously deducted from accounts paid withiu fourteen days of receipt. Gas for lighting and heating are Loth affected.
